The World of My Dreams

Where terror, hatred, death, pain are words of yesteryear,
never again to hear
& children who beg & toil all day become children again;
run, play, shout without fear

Where rulers are neither vote-hungry, beetle stained men
nor descendants of uncanny royalty
but those with selfless, scrupulous souls
who hold the will to return its ‘lost chance’ to peace

Where eyes peering from behind the veil laugh & marvel
at rainbows in their full splendour
& fire burns not in homes & trains but on sand,
under stars, in sparkling ember

In the wake of the new year
today at dusk we wait, the brightest dawn, to see
crops up from blood & tears of the past
an undying dream to breathe & live ‘free’

As the scorching sun, for the last time in fifty-two weeks,
crumbles into a placid, silver-blue sea;
a hundred billion voices roar:”Give the world of my dreams to me!”

"Aruba, Jamaica.." (well, not exactly..not even close..)

I love beaches. Most humans do. Not just the sand 'n' sun & water 'n' wind..love the calm & quiet too. (okay, I just can't help but rhyme..shoot me..)
Yeh, I don't like the beach-air messin' my hair (will I ever stop rhyming? ever!?) but beaches are just adorable, especially when you just want to do nothing at all..just let the waves wash your feet & vanish..& return yet again..
name: Marina beach, Chennai
blah: has an unending shore (lengthwise AND breadthwise..*long pause* oh its the longest beach in India ..so yeh, that explains it..)
etc: is Tsunami hit
name: Godrej beach (I think)
etc: who cares!? looks splendid doesn't it?

name: Bandstand (ok I know it ain't no beach..but the water, sunset..the works..do you feel it?!..yeh..)

name: the beloved, Juhu beach..
etc: yeh, its naaice..does one need reasons to go here? lemme answer that: no!
(PS: the rhymes in this post are purely unintentional & unbelievably natural)
*dreamin of a getaway..again*

Marshmallow clouds! :D

Saw these heavenly, white, marshmallow-like clouds on my way home today. I stopped, gazed insanely for a few moments & since the people around me already thought of me as a 'girl who has never seen clouds before', I couldn't resist going a step further & immortalizing the breathtaking view in a lens..(if that made any sense..) (well, at least that rhymed :P)
After all, how often do we Mumbaikars get to see pure, milky white clouds in a perfectly blue sky, making a backdrop for the building of a gothic church, eh?
It was amazing I tell you!
(PS: I think clouds are quite intriguing. I even like clicking them. This is probably the 4th or 5th cloud picture Im clicking. Very often, they make for some real good pictures, don't they?)

Deepawali

Deepawali: I love this festival. Its the only thing I call a 'festival' in the true sense of the word (don't ask why) Its so much more than just the 'festival of lights', its about food, sparkle, families, rangolis, people, colour, nostalgia, greetings & also the noise & pollution (sadly) It also gives many-a-chance for random photography *wink wink*. Well, its that time of the year again. Its Diwali! Yaay!
My Deepawali is goin' great. Spoke to school friends, surprised all of them by 'actually' calling them up *embarassed but happy smile* I'm feasting on an array of mithais, neatly arranged in the kitchen, inspite of already having an upset stomach. Also lighting these diyas every evening & doing other random stuff I thouroughly enjoy!

Quite a Diwali, this. Of course, it could've been much better! Hoping the festiivities continue for an eternity, I wish everyone a Shubh Deepawali, Happy Diwali, Saal Mubarak, Happy & prosperous New Year, also: Eid Mubarak!..(& all that I have missed) Hope Deepawali was quite a sparkle this year for everyone..& for those whom it wasn't, I shall keep y'all in my prayers!

Sparkle. Greetings. Peace.

The Sunrise Effect

Early morning local train ride...
Grey-blue morning sky. Fragmented cloud-cover. An orange sunrise. Tres superbe!
What does the sunrise do to you?

Make you a bit too over-adventureous..*ahem*
Thats the Sunrise Effect..
